IMDM Culture Medium Iscove's modified Dulbecco's medium for culturing erythroid precursor cells
MDM (Iscove's Modified Dulbecco Medium) is Iscove's modified DMEM medium, which was designed by Guilbert and Iscove in 1976 to cultivate red blood cell precursor cells and macrophages. IMDM medium adds selenium, HEPES, sodium pyruvate, and additional amino acids and vitamins on the basis of DMEM medium. It is very nutritious and very suitable for rapid proliferation and high-density cell culture.
IMDM medium can not only cultivate cells with special nutritional requirements (such as mouse B lymphocytes, LPS-stimulated B cells, bone marrow hematopoietic cells, T lymphocytes, and various hybridoma cells) but also can be used as some unique serum-free culture base fluid.
For a wide range of cell culture applications, we offer modified IMDM media in a variety of components.

L-glutamine (Glutamine) is an essential nutrient element in cell culture, but it is unstable in solution and will spontaneously degrade. The medium without L-glutamine can be adjusted arbitrarily according to research needs. - The amount of glutamine, adding fresh L-glutamine or its substitutes is more conducive to the growth of cells when using.
Phenol red is used as an indicator of pH value in the culture medium to continuously monitor the pH of the culture medium. At low pH values, phenol red makes the culture medium yellow, while at higher pH values, it makes the culture medium purple. , when the pH value is 7.2 to 7.4, it is red, which is most suitable for cell culture. However, phenol red also has some disadvantages. Studies have shown that phenol red can mimic the effects of steroid hormones (especially estrogen), so when using estrogen-sensitive cells (such as breast tissue), it is best to use phenol red-free Medium. Phenol red interferes with detection during flow cytometry analysis. In addition, the presence of phenol red in some formulations of serum-free media interferes with sodium-potassium balance.
